This smart speaker is likely to be famous, so if you want to be among the first set of people to bark commands at Apple Siri from your sofa just like you have been doing to Alexa, you will like to pre-order one now.
How to get an Apple HomePod?
You can now pre-order at Apple.com and on the Apple Store App on your US, UK and Australia iOS devices. You could also pre-order on at Best Buy, where a page is dedicated to the new Apple smart speaker. It looks unlikely that HomePod will make its way to Amazon, considering the fact that Amazon has its own smart speaker of the same category – but if it eventually finds its way to the Amazon, we’ll let you know.
How much will you be paying for the HomePod? The Apple HomePod will cost you $349/£319/AU$499.
What is Apple HomePod?
If you haven’t been keeping up with our news since last year, the Apple HomePod is a smart speaker in the category of Google Home and Amazon Echo, and it is powered by Apple’s virtual assistant called Siri. The smart speaker promises o provide better audio performance, but the boosted midrange, bass and highs will cost you. Apple HomePod is more expensive than other smart speakers currently on the market.
Talking of competition, we all know that Apple is late to the smart speaker party, which means that most potential customers have already bought the HomePod’s competitors. While the new speaker is likely to be popular, we’ll be waiting to see how big the slice of the smart speaker pie it can claim.
