This is a good news for Apple Music user. Apple has not made a song, but it has introduced a new subscription option that could save some money for existing Apple Music users.
For the Apple Music users that are happy to make the commitment of paying an annual subscription, there is now the option to select $99/£99 annual subscription, rather than paying $9.99/£9.99 monthly.
If you subscribe for the 12 months of Apple Music up front, you will be saving around $20/£20 over a year, which means you are paying for 10 months and getting 2 months free.
Commitment reward for Apple Music user
This new subscription option doesn’t seem to be available for the new users but for existing users. So if you are signing up for the Apple Music for the first time, you will only see the monthly individual, students, and family plans.
If you are an existing user, and you want to save some money, this is the way to save money. Get prepared as we are going to show you how to go about it.
On iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch
Open the Music app on your device to switch to the annual subscription option, click into your profile and then view your Apple ID.
From there you need to tap the subscription tab, followed by Apple Music Membership to view your membership options.
It will open up the membership options that are available. The plan you are already on will be ticked, but you need to tap the annual option, confirm your subscription and you are done!
On PC or Mac
On PC and Mac, you need to open up iTunes instead.
Click the account tab on the menu running along the top of your screen and then View My Account.
Once you are on the Account Information page, just scroll down to the settings section where you will find a Subscriptions option.
Click on Manage, then click Apple Music Membership and you will find yourself on a similar page to the iPhone subscription described above. You will see subscription you are already signed up to, and you can change the plan to an annual subscription.
At this moment the annual subscription is available for only individual users. No annual option is available for a family plan and student plan users, but the plans have discount added already. It makes much sense that Apple is offering something the individual subscribers first.
It is easy to select the annual option, and we hope the option will soon be available from initial sign up.
