samsung galaxy note 8

UPDATE: The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 launches today 23rd August 2017 and the release date will be announced as well. Watch this space for update as Samsung announces the official release date and specs.

Note: It has been confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will be expensive because it will be the best phone ever from Samsung.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 release date is near as it is just two months away before it’s released. It is also less likely that Note 8 will get an in-screen fingerprint sensor and Android O, but will beat both the iPhone 7S and iPhone 8 to the market.

Following the Galaxy Note 7 battery failures last autumn, Galaxy Note 8 is the biggest comeback story in phones.

Now that both Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus reviews are up on our site, we have shifted our attention to the Samsung’s S Pen-equipped Smartphone and its launch date.

We now have a better idea of Samsung Galaxy Note 8 features thanks to both Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus launch.

Samsung will build on its new all-screen technology, and Samsung Note series will continue to be its high-end.

Summary

  • What is it? It’s Samsung’s next phablet
  • When is it out? It will likely be out autumn of 2017
  • What will it cost? Note 7 cost $850, so this will also cost a lot.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 release date

It has been confirmed by Samsung that the Galaxy Note 8 release date will be this 2017. While Samsung did not go into details about the launch date, we expect the S Pen compatible Android phone by the autumn. According to a trusted source, we heard Galaxy Note 8 would be out in August to beat the iPhone 8 to the market.

Considering the fact that both Note 5 and Note 7 arrived in August, the rumored date makes sense.

Could it come earlier than August? It is possible, but the company may like to take some time for the battery safety. So late September should be perfect launch date, and late October should be the perfect releases date for Galaxy Note 8.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 screen

samsung galaxy note 8 rumor, news and release date

The hottest leaks

  • Possibility of 6.4-inch screen
  • Pixel-sense 4k resolution
  • Another Infinity Display

The Galaxy Note 8 may come with another groundbreaking screen. We are predicting that the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will be one of the first phones with a pixel-dense 4k screen.

The 4k screen is vital when your phone doubles as Samsung Gear VR headset screen. Otherwise, you will see individual pixels when it is just two inches from your face.

What about the Galaxy Note 8 screen size? Ever since Note 3, the Note series has stuck to the 5.7-inch screen size, but it is almost sure that this will break from the tradition.

We are likely to see a 6.2inch Galaxy Note 8 because the Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus has reached that tipping point. It will be hard for Samsung to offer anything smaller than that.

It has been rumored that 6.4-inch screen size is possible and there is the possibility of QHD+ OLED display with minimal bezels.

We are likely also to see ‘Infinity Display’ – what Samsung called the near bezel-free 18.5:9 display on Galaxy S8. It would be nice if Note 8 sport similar screen.

There is another rumor that Samsung Galaxy Note 8 could be the company’s first smartphone with a foldable screen. This is extremely unlikely, but not a bad rumor.

At best, Samsung Galaxy Note 9 could sport a foldable variant next year, just like the company tested curved screen with Samsung Galaxy Note Edge.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 design

Samsung Galaxy note 8

It is likely that the Note 8 design takes almost all the cues from the glass-and-metal sandwich of Galaxy S8 Plus.

The Infinity Display may mean there won’t be a home button on the new Note 8. It is rumored that it will have a pressure-sensitive screen that brings up different options and menus depending on how hard the display is pressed.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Camera

The hottest leaks

  • 3x optical zoom
  • A dual-lens camera
  • Telephoto and wide angle lenses

Samsung camera is already due for an upgrade, and the company may test the update on the Galaxy Note 8.

The Galaxy S7, S7 Edge, Note 7, Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus sported 12MP sensor, and Samsung promised it tweaked the software.

But we anticipate something different from Note 8, and it could come in the form of dual-lens camera. If Galaxy Note 8 comes with 12MP wide-angle lens and 13MP telephoto one, then you will be able to combine the two for a 3x optical zoom.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 battery

Just like Samsung’s current crop of phones, the Note 8 battery has to be in the ballpark of 3,500mAh. Samsung could technically go bigger just like Asus Zenfone Max which has 5,000mAh battery, but we are not expecting such big number.

Samsung Galaxy Not 8 OS and power

The hottest leaks

  • Android Nougat
  • A powerful 3GHz+ octa-core processor

The Samsung Note 8 specs will possibly reflect those of S8 and S8 Plus, but we may also see the boost in RAM.

Samsung may jump from 4GB of RAM to 6GB of RAM as it launched similar model of Galaxy S8 in China.

It means a Note 8 with 6GB of RAM is not out of the question. With more memory, there will be room for you to open more apps, as Samsung as boasted 6.8-inch screen is excellent for multitasking.

If rumors are to be believed, we expect Android Nougat, specifically Android 7.1.1. Wanting Android O which we will see on Google Pixel 2 that will launch later on the Note 8 is a great dream as it is not impossible.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 other features

The hottest leaks

  • Bixby AI 2.0
  • An iris scanner
  • A fingerprint scanner built into the screen
  • A stylus with a speaker

We have heard that Samsung Galaxy Note 8 could have its fingerprint scanner built into its screen. But will it be possible this time?

Samsung has reportedly said the Note 8 wouldn’t come with an in-screen fingerprint scanner because the company could not perfect the technology in time, so we are unlikely to see this feature in the Note 8.

According to rumor, the S Pen could come with a built-in speaker which could read notes back to you. We also heard it might be able to vibrate.

You can bet we will see iris scanner on the Note 8 because the unique way of unlocking the phone debuted in the Note 7 and continued to both S8 and S8 Plus.

It will also inherit both dust and water resistance with the IP68 rating. There will also be microSD card slot for expandable storage, and it will also enjoy Fast Charge via USB-C and wireless charging.

Samsung said it would expand its Bixby virtual assistant beyond S8 and S8 Plus, so we expect Note 8 to sport Bixby.

Samsung Galaxy Not 8 price

Evan Blass A noted leaker) says the phablet will launch with the sticker price of US$925 in the States, so you had better start saving now.

Considering the fact that Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus price is US$824.99, it is almost certain Note 8 with its S Pen and expected 6GB of Ram would cost more.
