Wyze cam 1080p HD indoor wireless smart home camera is cheap, but surprisingly better than a lot of expensive Wi-Fi security cameras out there. The price tag of $25 would initially suggest it is not a good camera, but that is wrong because this is one of the best on the market.
The security camera is the first offering from some ex-Amazon employees trading under the name Wyze Labs. The camera is really cheap, but very cheap.
WyzeCam defies everything you’d expect of Wi-Fi security camera. Not only is it just a fraction of popular security camera, it also doesn’t require subscription. So you don’t have to pay for cloud subscription.
The cube-shaped camera houses the same features as the expensive cameras, including features like motion and sound detection, 1080p video, two-way audio and night vision. The camera also comes with 14 days of free cloud storage, which is double of what other DIY cams offer – for detection-alert videos and up to 32GB of local storage via microSD card.

Wyze Cam has a built-in adjustable stand, extended from the bottom. You can mount it on any metal surface because it has built-in magnets and you can also affix it to wood or drywall by adding adhesive backing and a supplied washer. You can also set it on a shelf by pushing the stand up into the bottom of the camera.
Download WyzeCam companion app, connect the camera to your wireless network by following the voice and on-screen prompts. You will complete the process in a couple of minutes because the process is seamless.
When the camera is at 110 degree, it can capture the whole living room and the image is excellent. You can even zoom up to 8x and switch between SD and HD resolution while viewing the live stream. You can zoom by reverse-pinching on your device touchscreen and toggle night vision on and off using the button at the top of the camera.
You can also turn on and off the sound and motion detection alert using switches in the setting. If you also want to set the sensitivity level, you can set it at low, medium or high. There are also toggles for smoke and CO detection too. If you are not using SD card, this security camera record in 12-second and save in the cloud. So it makes sense to use SD card so it can record continuously and capture every moment.
